Kanaya Hotel Kinugawa

Kanaya Hotel Kinugawa is a luxury spa hotel in the hot spring resort town of Kinugawa Onsen.

In addition to its hot spring facilities and gourmet restaurant, this hotel boasts unique facilities such as a cigar salon and chocolate bar. Kinugawa Hotel Kinugawa was first opened in 1931 and is a sister hotel to the Nikko Kanaya Hotel which is Japan’s oldest resort hotel. This hotel underwent extensive renovation in 2012.

Guest Rooms

Kanaya Hotel Kinugawa has a mixture of Japanese and Western style rooms and suites with futons or beds. All guest rooms have a wooden terrace overlooking the Kinugawa valley.

Three of the suites and the Deluxe Japanese Style Room have their own hot spring baths. All rooms are supplied with a refrigerator, a TV with satellite channels, a DVD player, an audio system, an electric kettle and tea set, a hairdryer, nightwear, slippers, and a safe for your valuables. Private bathrooms are supplied with towels, soap, shampoo, conditioner, toothbrush sets, shaving razors, combs, brushes, and cotton buds.

Breakfast & Dining

Breakfast can be enjoyed in your room or in the hotel restaurant between 7.30 and 10.00. Two breakfast options are available: a Western style set meal with eggs, ham, sausage, salad and tea or coffee; or a Japanese set meal with grilled fish, rice, miso soup, and other seasonal side dishes.

For dinner, the hotel restaurant serves luxurious kaiseki course meals that fuse traditional Japanese dishes with modern Western elements. These meals can be enjoyed overlooking the garden, on the restaurant terrace, in private dining rooms, or you can be served in your guest room. Dinner is served between 18.00 and 22.00 with last orders at 21.30.

Kanaya Hotel Kinugawa has a 24-hour front desk. Check-in time is from 14.00 and check-out is by 11.00.

Complimentary tea and coffee are available in the hotel lounge between 8.00 and 21.30.

This hotel has communal hot spring baths which are separated by gender and have both indoor and outdoor bathing areas overlooking the natural scenery. There are white granite, marble, and cypress wood baths and a spacious sauna. The natural mineral waters are believed to be good for nerve pain, sprains, muscular pain, and joint pain.

This hotel has a cozy cigar salon where you can enjoy Cuban and other top-quality cigars in a relaxing atmosphere along with well-paired snacks and drinks. Chess sets are also available in this salon for those who would like to play. The cigar salon is open from 7.00 till 22.00.

There is also a chocolate bar where you can enjoy gourmet chocolates along with wine, coffee, tea, or other soft drinks.

The hotel Club is a private lounge with 20 seats and karaoke facilities which can be reserved for parties.

The hotel gift shop sells local confectionery and handicrafts along with Kanaya Hotel brand goods between 7.30 and 21.00.
